Signing is a great way of communicating with your little ones, and its fun too. Communication is an important tool in the development of your babies, and you will be amazed at how quickly signing can be learned and used.
Reading stories, walking down the street, mealtimes, songs and day to day findings are all times when signing thus communication between you and child can take place. It could also encourage them to take communication to the next level as they see how important and what fun this an be.
These 5 week courses aim to teach you a number key words which can be used in your day to day life. These are then used in song to help remember and develop this skill. the cd of songs used in the classes is avaialble at the class to aid the continued practice at home but this is not essential.
The original study by Drs. Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwin found that at certain ages children who had learned to sign as babies were further developed in their speech age than those who hadn't and further more the IQ of the child was also found to be positively affected.
